WHO?
The project was developed by Stevie, an artist whose work considers how digital media shapes the way we perceive and experience external reality, and how that mediation alters the hierarchy of value we assign to our memories and, by extension, our beliefs.
un.shaped explores the same questions, but focused on ways to elevate your ability to choose what you let shape you... on your terms.
WHAT?
The un.shaped project, and the practices within the "200 things to do alone" ecosystem, were inspired by the value I've found that can comes from experimenting with different ways of looking, feeling, or positioning ourselves in relation to the external world.
This type of experimentation lends itself to a gradual refinement of personal taste, and a more present sense of observation... of things that often sit just outside your usual frame of reference.
These practices are really about reconnecting with yourself. Your attention. Your creativity. Your hopes, dreams, preferences, ideas, and inner life.
Slowly, you learn what is worth paying attention… specifically for you. And how to protect that presence in your own life.
WHY?
There's no shortage of external noise fighting for your attention every day, and it's difficult to combat that constant pull.
When so much of life is lived through devices... creating moments to remember the world around you, and in you, becomes crucial to feel a sense of connection to your own life.
